Washington, D.C., March 24, 2026 – OrbitsIQ Global (OIQ), an innovator in AI-driven secure connectivity across terrestrial and satellite networks, today announced a major technological milestone achieved in collaboration with Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Wrocław Tech) and supported by the European Space Agency (ESA).

Together, the partners have successfully developed and validated a next-generation transmission technology, the Enhanced Spread Spectrum Aloha (E-SSA) waveform, purpose-built for space-based Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile telematics applications.

The breakthrough enables satellite networks to support hundreds of devices transmitting simultaneously over the same channel in the RF spectrum, without the performance degradation typically associated with scale.

Solving the Scalability Challenge in Space IoT and mobile objects

As demand for global connectivity across mobility, logistics, agriculture, energy, and infrastructure monitoring continues to grow, satellite networks face a core challenge: scaling efficiently without sacrificing performance or increasing complexity. Conventional technologies rely on scheduling or collision-based access methods to the allocated RF channel that reduce usable capacity or degrade under high device density. This limitation becomes particularly problematic for mobile and IoT data exchange, where large numbers of devices compete for limited RF channel capacity.

The newly developed E-SSA waveform takes a fundamentally different approach. Validated through offline testing over 4 MHz wide bandwidth has demonstrated:

  • 500 concurrent device connections
  • Approximately 30,000 data frames per second, each frame consists commercially attractive amount of digital data
  • A measured spectral efficiency of 0.8 bps/Hz

Actual testing runs have confirmed advantageous E-SSA performance.

This represents a step-change in usable throughput and SatCom spectrum utilization compared to existing narrowband satellite systems.

Architecture Designed for Simplicity and Global Deployment

Beyond pure performance gains, E-SSA significantly reduces system complexity.

Devices can transmit data to passing satellites without prior registration, synchronization, or network coordination. Each data frame has a preamble that alerts satellite receivers. The architecture eliminates scheduling overhead and minimizes protocol inefficiencies, allowing most of the allocated bandwidth to carry user data.

This streamlined design enables:

  • Instantaneous deployment in remote and infrastructure-denied environments
  • Lower satellite payload complexity
  • Reduced latency
  • Improved energy efficiency for battery-powered devices

Strengthening OIQ’s Technology Portfolio

The E-SSA development reinforces OIQ’s strategy of combining cybersecurity, AI-driven network orchestration, and proprietary communication technologies into a unified secure connectivity platform, making mobile and IoT SatCom seamless communication in a commercial reality.

Over the past two years, OIQ has expanded its capabilities in satellite-terrestrial interoperability and secure communications through strategic acquisitions and intellectual property development, including more than 53 patents. In October 2025, the company acquired Munich-based UNIO Enterprise, followed by its expansion into Poland in February 2026 to strengthen satellite waveform innovation, digital signal processing and other relevant software development.

The E-SSA technique enhances this portfolio by addressing the scalability and efficiency challenges considered under several aspects of space-based narrowband communications, a critical component of future global mobile connectivity infrastructure.

“This collaboration reflects our long-term commitment to redefining secure global connectivity,” said Joe Euteneuer, CEO of OrbitsIQ Global. “E-SSA is not simply an incremental improvement; it is a structural innovation that enables satellite and terrestrial networks to operate in harmony, scaling efficiently without compromising performance. Together, our waveform development, AI-driven-switching, data routing and cybersecurity capabilities position OIQ to deliver truly resilient, ubiquitous, secured connectivity.”
