With Artemis 2 getting ready to return to the moon, there’s no better time to launch your own space expedition. Granted, you may not make quite as far as NASA’s mission but this Estes 2441 Mini Arcas Model Rocket Kit is a great way to learn about spaceflight and it’s 20% off at Walmart right now!

Get this Estes 2441 Mini Arcas Model Rocket Kit, complete with engines, for just $14.99 at Walmart.

You will need to provide some basic materials to complete the rocket, such as scissors, glue, a ruler, pencil, hobby knife, sandpaper and so on, but once complete, this craft will launch up to 550 feet in the air and, thanks to its mylar streamer, you’ll have every chance of recovering it afterwards.

Hobby rockets have really taken off, literally and figuratively. I’m old enough that I’m practically turning to dust, so I can remember that launching a rocket involved a water-filled pop bottle and a foot pump. But this Estes 2441 Mini Arcas Model Rocket Kit has the basic materials to launch itself up to 550 feet in the air.

Granted, you will need some extras which, as outlined by Estes, are “scissors, glue, a ruler, pencil, hobby knife, sandpaper, sanding block, primer, and specific paint colors.” But chances are you’ve got some of those lying around the house anyway.

And, thanks to the mylar thread, you should be able to retrieve your rocket and, with the purchase of additional engines, repeat your journey skywards! Next stop, the moon?

Key features: 15 inches approx height, launches up to 550ft, 13mm mini engines included, for children aged 10 or above, supervision recommended for children under 12. Requires scissors, sanding paper, etc.

Price comparison: Amazon: $15.50| Walmart: $14.99

✅ Buy it if: You’re looking for a fun solo or family activity that’ll give you a small taste of space travel.

❌ Don’t buy it if: You’re not prepared to oversee use of the rocket. Younger children will need supervision.
